2012 Small Farm Conference
Join us at the 2012 Small Farm Conference March 1-3 at Waterfront Place Hotel and Conference Center in Morgantown, WV!
The format last year was well-received, so again this year, Thursday, March 1 will offer a selection of intensive day-long workshops. This opportunity to spend an entire day in a specific workshop with experts in the topic have led to many changes in on-farm practices. Choose from High Tunnels, Cheesemaking, Poultry, Grant-writing, Alternative Energy, and Youth Entrepreneurship.
The West Virginia Farmers Market Association-organized Winter Blues Farmers Market will be held that evening from 4-7pm, offering a multitude of vendors selling their winter-hardy food, goods and products.
Following this Winter Blues Farmers Market, attendees and the public are invited to enjoy local foods prepared by 15 chefs from across the Mountain State. Dine in 15 restaurants in one evening, all in one room! The event will feature musical entertainment. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Friday March 2nd and Saturday March 3rd will offer shorter sessions on a variety of topics from beekeeping to backyard flocks to farm tax information and non-timber forest crops. Friday night, join us for the Local Food Celebration Banquet.
