Attendees can register for individual days or register for all three days at a discounted rate.
Students receive a 50 percent discount off of their registration fee. To receive this discount, you must contact the Small Farm Center staff’s Bonnie Thomas or Becky Casteel or call 304-293-2743 to receive the student promotional code before registering.
The Better Process Control School has a separate registration with West Virginia Department of Agriculture. Please call 304-558-2210 for details.
Friday night’s Local Food Celebration banquet is not included in the registration fee. The registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, and breaks for each day. The banquet is listed separately at the bottom of the ticket list. Those wishing to attend must purchase a ticket.

In its 8th year, the WVU Extension Service Small Farm Conference will offer the most realistic and all-inclusive view of the “state of agriculture” in West Virginia. Annually, the conference boasts a variety of topics, events, and speakers in more than 50 sessions. Under the organization of the Small Farm Center, all meals are sourced locally. We hope you’ll join us March 1-3, 2012 at Waterfront Place Hotel and Conference Center in Morgantown. INTENSIVE DAY-LONG WORKSHOPS:
On March 1, the conference will offer six specialized all-day workshops for more in-depth coverage of specific topics: Alternative Energy, Poultry, Grant Writing, Cheesemaking, Youth Entrepreneurship, and High Tunnels. An Agritourism workshop will be offered on February 29th by the WV Department of Agriculture. Each workshop will be a day-long learning experience for attendees and instructed by experts in their field. Better Process Control School- Successful completion certifies supervisors in the FDA requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations (21 CFR Part 114) for manufacturing Acidified Foods. Winter Blues Farmers Market- For the fourth year, farmers market fans have an off-season opportunity to shop at this premier event on Thursday, March 1st. Farmers from all over the state will gather to sell their winter-hardy foods, goods and products. Contact us for more information.
WV Local Dine Around- Following the Thursday Market, attendees and the public are invited to enjoy local foods prepared by 15 chefs from across the Mountain State. Dine in 15 restaurants in one evening! The event will also have musical entertainment. Tickets will be sold at the door.
